A New Powerhouse: The 2.2L Diesel Engine
Replacing the previous 1.9-liter unit, the newly developed 2.2-liter "MaxForce" (RZ4F) engine delivers a significant step up in performance. Producing 120 kW (163 hp) and 400 Nm of torque, the engine offers a 10% increase in torque over its predecessor. Most importantly for professionals, it generates 60% more torque (255 Nm) from just 1,000 rpm, ensuring effortless take-offs even with heavy loads.
The new engine is paired with a sophisticated eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing the previous six-speed unit for smoother shifts and improved fuel efficiency, or with a 6-speed manual gearbox in some versions.
Unmatched Towing and Payload Capacity
Built on a truck-based chassis rather than a passenger car platform, the 2026 D-Max is engineered for the toughest tasks.
- Industry-Leading Towing: All 2.2L variants now feature a standard 3.5-tonne (3,500 kg) braked towing capacity, matching the power of larger displacement engines.
- Massive Payload: The D-Max continues to lead its class with a payload capacity of up to 1,200 kg (depending on configuration), making it the ultimate tool for both work and adventure.
- 3 Cabin types : Single cab, Extended Cab & Double Cab
Legendary Reliability and Safety
Isuzu’s reputation for reliability is deeply rooted in its heritage as a commercial truck manufacturer. The 2.2L engine is designed for a long, under-stressed life, backed by a 5-year warranty.
Safety remains a priority with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. The 2026 model includes Isuzu’s Intelligent Driver Assistance System (IDAS), featuring:
- Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with turn assist.
- Trailer Sway Control for safer towing.
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go.
- 360° camera
